DARNELL WILLIAMS Jacob Johnson on the ABC Television Network's "The City" Darnell Williams plays Jacob Johnson in "The City," a role he originated on "Loving" in February, 1995. Jacob's life had been filled with pain over the loss of his wife and son, until he won a second chance at life with Angie Hubbard. Now, with Angie by his side, Jacob is ready to start again, with a new bar, a new partner and a new attitude. Darnell was born in London and spent his childhood in England, New York City and Okinawa. The son of an Air Force career man, Darnell always took part in school plays, no matter what country he was living in. He attended Los Angeles City College, got his Actors Equity card in the Los Angeles regional production of "Selma" and appeared in "Guys and Dolls" in Las Vegas. Darnell studied acting with Warren Robertson, Herbert Berghof and Glyn Turman. He studied ballet with Richard Thomas and jazz with Fred Benjamin. His voice teachers have been Therman Bailey and Larry Moss. On Broadway, Darnell appeared in "Checkmates" and "Angels in America." Off-Broadway credits include "House of Lear" and "Dinah Washington Is Dead." He also danced in the national tour of "Your Arm's Too Short to Box With God." Television credits include "True Blue," "Stompin' at the Savoy," "Reasonable Doubts" and "All My Children." Darnell has appeared in a number of feature films, but is most proud of his appearance in Robert Altman's "Short Cuts." Darnell currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, and enjoys Central Park and going to the movies. Among Darnell's most devoted fans are his parents, who are natives of Brooklyn, and now live in Victorville, California. His four brothers and three sisters also give him loyal support.
